Introduction to the Educator's Program
We are pleased you are interested in this work. It offers hope and is a source of joy that this program continues to be so widely welcomed internationally. We would welcome the opportunity to work with your school, with you as parents and/or train with your staff in Learning P.E.A.C.E.
We would like to provide you with an overview of the program. Nowadays, of course, there are a myriad of programs geared towards reducing violence in schools. Learning P.E.A.C.E. stands out due to its immediate applicability to any school or family situation. It is a comprehensive, pro-active, practical approach that develops skills for social mastery and addresses the various facets of potential violence, whether it has manifest as such or not. Children learn how to retrain their behavior, and constructively channel their frustration and aggression, so as to create and maintain workable and harmonious relationships. Unlike many other programs, it is unique in its school-wide application and its process oriented family application, which delivers a consistent and solid framework for children and teenagers to practice and integrate effective and appropriate behaviors right from the start.
The skills and strategies taught and practiced in this concept are used to master conflicts that arise naturally during the day. Young people learn skills necessary to appropriately express their needs or desires and to really hear and understand those of their peers, a fundamental approach to successful conflict resolution. Young people are empowered to accept themselves, their strengths and weaknesses, as well as those of others. They become aware of the relationship between their attitude and their experience of daily life. The resulting atmosphere of cooperation and camaraderie makes aggressive behavior unnecessary.
Please know that it is in our interest to make training in Learning P.E.A.C.E. a viable option for your school community and for parents and your family. In trying to meet the many requests internationally, we can better assure you a preferred date the earlier we hear from you. We will do our utmost to accommodate your circumstances and needs to make this training a reality for you.
We acknowledge and thank you for your willingness to create positive changes in the lives of children, and the adults who deal with them and, therefore, in our world at large. We look forward to accompanying you along the road to more peaceful relationships.
With best wishes,
